Music Lesson Terms and Conditions

1. Payment

Lesson fees are due bi-monthly, covering all school holidays except a two-week hiatus for Christmas. Invoices will be issued on the 1st of each month, with payment expected by the 1st of the following month. A £5.00 administrative charge is applied to overdue invoices.

2. Fees

Lesson fees are subject to annual review. Any fee changes will be communicated a month in advance. In the event of a fee increase, students can terminate the agreement with a refund for lessons paid in advance.

3. Holidays

A minimum of 14 days’ notice is required for holiday/lesson rescheduling. Written notice via email to both the Teacher and School Administrator (hello@wokingmusic.co.uk) is essential. In the event that the student is absent for a continuous period exceeding four weeks, the agreed-upon weekly time slot may be subject to reassignment.

4. Student Missed Lessons

In order to provide a full and fair service to our clients, we are unable to change agreed lesson appointments with less than 2 weeks notice. If 2 weeks notice is provided we will endeavour to find an alternative lesson appointment. Illness or emergency school closures will be rescheduled at no extra cost.

5. Teacher Missed Lessons

If your main Teacher is away or unwell, cover will always be provided. If for any reason this is not possible, you will not be charged for the missed lesson.

6. Additional Lessons

Extra lessons may be scheduled during holidays by mutual agreement at standard cost.

7. Cooling-Off Period

Students have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the agreement, notifying the Teacher and Administrator in writing or email.

8. Termination

Discontinuation requires six weeks’ notice from either party. Early discontinuation will be liable for fees not taken during the notice period.

9. General

Force majeure events are excluded from breach consequences. Examination entries, festivals, competitions require mutual agreement and student fee payment. Students must insure their instrument. Student’s medical conditions must be disclosed. Students’ permission to be taught and photographed is implied unless indicated otherwise.

10. Other

Students are encouraged to engage in additional activities like Jam Nights, Ensemble Workshops, and Band Masterclasses. These opportunities enhance the application of lesson content beyond individual sessions.
