Adult Band Classes

"Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, you learn notes to play to the music of your soul."

Katie Greenwood

Our Adult Band Classes are an exciting musical journey designed to elevate your musicianship and performance abilities.

These 12-week Band Classes help musicians grow through collaboration and performance. Small groups work together on up to nine diverse songs, spanning genres from Rock and Pop to Funk, Blues, and Jazz.

With four skill levels—beginner, foundational, intermediate, and advanced—we assess each participant beforehand to ensure the best fit.

Once assessed and offered a spot, a £100 non-refundable deposit (inc. VAT) secures your place, with the remaining balance due 14 days before the first class.

We publish song lists for each level ahead of term, focusing on challenging participants and pushing them beyond their comfort zones. Some songs may be technically demanding or outside their usual style, but having the list in advance allows time to work on tricky sections independently or with our 1-2-1 teachers.

All participants are expected to learn the songs beforehand so we can jump straight into playing, making the most of each session and tackling new challenges together.

Each term ends with a live gig, celebrating your progress and hard work.

Before enrolling, please ensure you can attend at least 80% of sessions, as your commitment is key to the group’s success.

Beginner

Our Beginner Band Classes are designed for musicians ready to play with others for the first time, with dedicated instrument specific teachers guiding every step. This class provides the perfect mix of structured learning and hands-on experience.

Each group consists of four drummers, four bassists, four guitarists, four keyboardists, and four vocalists, ensuring everyone learns in a supportive, collaborative environment while working alongside others on the same instrument.

Each session is split into two 1-hour parts; the Instrument Breakout Sessions and the Full Band Rehearsal. These classes take place on Saturdays.

Over the term, you'll workshop six songs chosen by the tutors to your build skills. By the end, you'll be more confident, experienced, and ready for the next step in your musical journey.

Foundational

Our Foundational Band Classes are designed for musicians still early in their band performance journey but ready to take on the responsibility of learning songs without group instrumental guidance.

With two drummers, two bassists, three guitarists, two keyboardists, and two vocalists, these sessions provide a supportive and collaborative environment where you’ll build confidence, develop musicality, and gain real band experience by diving straight into playing from day one. Each 1 hour and 30 minute session is held on one of the following evenings: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

Foundational Keyboardists receive video tutorials and pre-programmed sounds to ease the transition into band playing

Over the term, you'll workshop eight songs—six chosen by the tutor to build skills and two selected by the class. By the end, you'll be more confident, experienced, and ready for the next step in your musical journey.

Intermediate

Our Intermediate Band Classes are for musicians who are ready for a noticeable step up in challenge. Like the foundational level, the class includes two drummers, two bassists, three guitarists, two keyboardists, and two vocalists, creating a collaborative environment where you can work with and learn from others.

You'll workshop eight songs, but with greater complexity and tighter performance expectations. This step up challenges your technique, musicianship, and ensemble skills, preparing you for more advanced playing.

Each 1 hour and 30 minute session is held on one of the following evenings: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.

Advanced

Our Advanced Band Classes offer a high-level, intimate experience with just one drummer, bassist, keyboardist, two guitarists, and two vocalists. With fewer members, each musician takes full ownership of their role.

We select the first few songs, but the rest are chosen by the group with tutor guidance, ensuring a collaborative and challenging experience. With a smaller class size, the fee is slightly higher, but the focused environment allows for deeper musical growth and precision.

Each 1 hour and 30 minute session is held on one of the following evenings: Wednesdays or Thursdays.
